Daily Journal Continued May 08,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Let all people praise Him who is Lord and God,praise ye the Lord! Silence in a dark room I awaken to and realized I was in Pigeon Forge Tennessee in the Grand Hotel Inn. No bed is like my bed at home. I feel of the pillows and they do not feel the same. This was a very nice room with a Jucuzzi tub and a king size bed. As America has more money to spend, growth is out of hand. Shopping malls and roads are being built like mad. Yet this room double wide cost me only $18.77 as posted out front. There are so many new hotels upstream that most people donot get down to the heart of the action. All the lights are so beautiful. In the last few years this area has become a mass of tourist development in hotel and outlet mall building. The gateway to Gatlinburg looks like a warzone now with the widening of the highway down from I-40. This is the Great Smokey Mountains and if you take US441 South, you will see the sight of your life over the big mountain and down to Cherokee North Carolina Indian Reservation where now is a giant new gambling casino. I purchased a Noel's Ark under a sign that said Armish but it turns out to be made in China and was cheap, both the marketing and the product is cheap and I should know. The beautiful green pastures of the sloping hillsides here along the flat has now turned red with mud and orange with barricade barrels and the earth is moving with big iron caterpillars also orange. The colors of progress or what the world considers their progress are so ugly. I prefer it like it was blue sky and green grass and animals on them hills. The dollar green has caused the rivers to run red with the blood of the earth. It is time we stop this crazy cycle. The other orange here is the Z Budda original shopping center under outlet store concept. Agent orange here is much the same as in wartime choking off the natural life, breath and peaceful approach to a pleasant presentable lifestyle. After an enjoyable lunch with my good friends in busy Morristown,I left to drive the heavy rain home. Just as I topped the hill on 25E to see the entrance to I-81 I saw the flashing lights of caution and I knew there was a major wreck. A big pickup truck pulling a long heavy loaded trailer had turned left in the way of a black color fast sports car or what was a few minutes before. The impact had disconnected the trailer and the wide highway was a sad mess of a major wreckage against a dark sky. Black vehicles are hard to see especially against high hills of dark foliage in the day time. I suggest white color cars may be safer or yellow or ever orange the color of danger either to people or to the earth. There were warnings this morning on T.V. that due to heavy rains, the same mountain is falling down again on I-40 West of Asheville where it was closed for most of this year from falling rocks and slides. I think of going through Atlanta but realize it would add 200 miles to my travel. I by faith and fact that East bound traffic will be not so near the mountain proceeded. Neither lane is closed yet. Time is priceless, waste it not on golf, sports or games. In all the rush and needing to be in 40 places,I being human have put prayer and Bible reading for today behind all the other flash of lights and urgent things to do. Forgive me Dear Lord, make me to put You and Your Divine Holy Word first and foremost everyday. Proverbs 1-10,"My son,If sinners entice thee, consent thou not,"
